Join us for our monthly Lodge dinner and business meeting.
Lee Terry, Sr., 33° will host a debate in May. The Unicameral is considering a bill called the “Red Flag Law.” The law, which has already been passed by fourten states, allows a variety of persons, even the person you are dating or have dated, to go to court and declare you to be dangerous and have any weapons you own taken away from you. This issue will be debated by Sarpy County Sheriff Captain Kevin Grieger, who testified for the bill in the Legislative committee, and Rod Moeller, Director of Government Affairs Director for the Nebraska Firearm Owners Association. Grieger is a graduate of the F.B.I. academy and a former marine. Needless to say, many consider the law a violation of The Second Amendment to our Constitution. They feel that most judges are against the ownership of guns and will be more than willing to remove them. Plus, a person you are dating or have dated may have ulterior motives in declaring you dangerous. This will be an interesting debate, so plan to attend at 5:15 for the debate, followed by an excellent dinner and the Lodge meeting.
