Perfect upper-60s temperature, barely a cloud in the sky, a cool breeze, and not a mosquito to be seen - the perfect weather for the Spring Outing at the Papillion Gun Club. Over 200 Masons and prospective Masons turned out for an evening of trap shooting and a bacon-wrapped steak dinner, with baked potato, salad, corn, and roll on the side, prepared by the Culinary Masters. . .

In light of last January's terrorist-style threat to a Scottish RIte Lodge in Wisconsin, John Maxell, General Secretary for the Omaha Valley, arranged to have Sgt. Robert Wondra, a former Marine and 20-year veteran of the Omaha Police Department,  give the ‘Active Killer’ presentation.

Omaha organist Jim Boston stops by each week to play the Scottish Rite's 1926 Kilgen & Sons organ, which keeps moisture in the pipes and the keys in tune. We asked him to show what the organ can do, and we recorded this short video of the Scottish Rite's 90 year old pipe organ in full form! . . .

On Thursday, April 21ST, the Alliance and Omaha's Scottish Rite produced their 4th annual "Ethics on Trial" at the Scottish Rite theater.  The multi-media production uses a mock-trial format and audience participation to explore ethical issues such as: a wrong-vs-wrong ethical choice, stem cell donation, media ethics, and, this year, a corporate code of ethics policy on employee political activity.

March is proving to be a busy month at the Scottish Rite! We broke a record and served 190 guests at the Fish Fry from 11 - 1:00 during the first fish fry on March 11th. That same evening, Kyle and Amanda Beckner hosted the Cèilidh Gaelic Beer Tasting, with excellent Irish and Scottish beers and home made dishes to accompany each beer. On Saturday, March 12. . .
