Lincoln Valley Super Saver Fundraiser

The Lincoln Valley Scottish Rite took advantage of a unique fundraising opportunity offered by SuperSaver Grocery Stores in Lincoln.  It is available to local nonprofit groups who benefit the community.  On Saturdays from May through October they provide grilled hot dogs, brats, or pulled pork sandwiches along with chips and a drink for $2.  The Scottish Rite provided volunteers to serve from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  They got to keep all the proceeds.  During three Saturday sessions, the Scottish Rite raised a total of $870!

Consistory and Lodge of Perfection officers took care of these fundraisers in 2015.  Working at two or more of the sessions were Merv and Sharon Moeller, Ward and Sandy Shires, Jerry Pigsley, Don Gray, Eric Bachenberg and Keith Simonson.  The participating Lincoln SuperSaver stores were located at 27th and Cornhusker, and 56th and Highway 2.  In addition to providing the food, SuperSavers also paid $2 for each of their employees who ate lunch that day.  We very much appreciate their helping the local groups support their philanthropies in this way!
