Bro. Paul Rutherford, 33°, serves as Personal Representative to the SGIG in the Omaha Valley.  He is a member of the Cathedral Association and is General Class Director at each Reunion.

Personal Representative to the SGIG

Bro. Rutherford, a native of Omaha, Nebraska is one of four children to Ray and Ann Rutherford.  His father was an active Mason dedicating much time to the Tangier Shrine Legion of Honor and served many years as Treasurer of the Omaha Home for Boys Board of Directors.  This gave Bro. Paul a big exposure to Masonry early in life.  He is a graduate of Westside High School and received a BSBA degree with a specialization in Real Estate and Land Use Economics from the University of Nebraska at Omaha.

Bro. Paul started his Masonic career when he was “Raised” as a Master Mason in Shiloh Lodge #327 in 1995.  He immediately became involved in the Fraternity.  He is Past Master of Shiloh Lodge and served as its Secretary for several years.  Soon after joining Shiloh, he petitioned Scottish Rite Valley of Omaha.  The next year he joined the 14th degree team taking the part of Venerable Master and shortly thereafter become Director of that degree and served several years in that capacity.  Bro. Paul continues to be active in both the 14th and 32nd degree teams and currently serves as the Reunion Class Director helping to orient new members into the Scottish Rite. 

Bro. Paul was invested with the Knight Commander of the Court of Honour (KCCH) in 2001 and was coroneted a 33° Inspector General Honorary in 2005. 

A member of the Tangier Shrine, Bro. Paul is a member of the Racer Unit (little parade cars) and is active in the Tangier Shrine Circus where he helps to operate the Circus Fun Fair each year.

Bro. Paul was elected to the Board of Trustees of the Omaha Home for Boys in 1997 and later to the Board of Directors.  He has served on numerous working committees over the years and remains involved on the Property Committee which oversees the daily operations, maintenance, repairs and capital improvements of the Home’s physical plant.

In 2006 Bro Paul was appointed Personal Representative in Omaha to the Sovereign Grand Inspector General (SGIG) in which capacity he is counsel to the General Secretary and helps determine policy and budgets and oversee operations within the Omaha Valley of Scottish Rite.


Background

Following college, Bro. Paul worked for N.P. Dodge in their Commercial Property Management division.  He has since worked for Grubb & Ellis Management Services and currently Cushman & Wakefield/Lund Company as Senior Facilities Manager.

 In his various property management roles Bro. Paul gained diverse experience for the operation,

 

 maintenance and construction of commercial properties.  Bro. Paul has earned several professional designations relating to real estate and serves or has served as an officer or director of several business related organizations. 

 Bro. Paul and his lovely Lady, Becky, were married in 1991 and have two children, son Aidan and daughter Laryssa.  They are busy with school, church and other social activities.
